I do agree that it isn’t a very good car, I actually hate it, but the US-ification made it even worse.
There is a 2.0 I4 with 176HP, but for some reason you didn’t get it in the US.
The one pictured above is the Storm version, arguably the best one. You also don’t get that in the US.
The trunk opens the way it does because in most markets all versions come with a trunk mounted spare tire.

That is an ugly vehicle. But MUH RIDE HEIGHT
(I’m not a fan of the new Focus or Fiesta either, so it’s a wash for me.)

The thing that I find really annoying is seeing an ad over and over in which the announcer pronounces it “Echo” and not “Eeko” Sport.
That concludes my objections to the Eco-Sport.

Eww that spare.

I don’t mind it, it looks better with the spare IMO.

It’s more practical than a Miata.

If I got one that spare on the back would be tempting. Wonder is the US spec one has a spare at all.

At first I didn’t understand why they fired Mark Fields.
It’s all starting to make sense now.

This would be a lot better as described. Though the 166 hp 2.0 is pretty close.

The back spare is only on the base trim level (which is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard) and it does make it look better

It has a lot of potential but very poorly executed. If it got the 1.5 turbo as a top trim engine or better yet the Fiesta ST engine, I think a lot of the hate would disappear.

From the Ford USA site I think it doesn’t come with a spare.

Are you sure? Ford USA has no pictures of the back spare.

Yeah, I doubt the 4WD version is any good offroad, this is the epitome of SUV for the sake of idiot buyers.

Probably the same engine, but maybe emissions? You guys have better gas over there too, so I’m not sure why the downgrade in power.

It was named Eco-Sport in the early 2000s solely for the South American market, and here we pronounce Eco like Echo.
They just kept the name.

This and the kill all the normal cars thing.

When viewed as the thing Ford intends to take up the Fiesta’s place in the lineup, the EcoSport isn’t terrible, but it’s also pricey compared to regular subcompact hatchbacks, and there are other subcompact crossovers that are better like the Honda CR-V.
Ford will still sell the Focus in the US, but only in wannabe-Crosstrek Focus Active form.

There’s no press photos because it’s only on the base S trim which looks the best but doesn’t have the profit margin that Ford is after lol

That’s because they’re trying to piggyback off of Toyota’s Echo, which is an awesome car

Where is the Ecosport-related shit on the FP? I can’t find it
